Emerald Ridge Ranch, one of the most exclusive land holdings to come on the market, sold on September 30, 2016 at a price of $7M, making it the most significant vacant land sale on the valley floor in Steamboat Springs in 2016.

Consisting of 780 acres, just 3.5 miles outside of Steamboat Springs city limits, this legacy property was an extremely rare offering. One of the few remaining heritage ranches in Steamboat, it was originally established by Herbert Lufkin in 1919 and the property remained in the Lufkin family until the time of this sale.

“The unrestricted privacy, tremendous ranch & recreational attributes, gentle topography, and easy access made this property very attractive,” said Ren Martyn, who represented the sellers.

The property was purchased by a family from Texas, who already own other properties in Steamboat. According to Pam Vanatta, who worked with the buyers on the sale, “Although there is development potential for the property, this family plans to use it as a private family recreation compound. It is more of a legacy property for their family for years to come.”
