Our Blog

We love where we live. That’s why Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty brokers, owners and staff volunteer and participate in over 65 organizations to support our local community and charities. Here’s what we were up to this month …

Girls on the Run

The annual Girls on the Run 5K held on November 5, 2016 is the culmination and celebration of the Girls on the Run after school program. According to the Girls on the Run website, “We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.” And, “We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.” This year’s event was sponsored by Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty’s Lisa Olson, Broker Associate, and supported by Michael Marchand, Administrative Assistant.

Emerald Mountain School

Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to support the Emerald Mountain School, as a sponsor for the Scholarship/Tuition Assistance Auction, which was held on November 12, 2016. This annual event is an opportunity for the 8th grade Student Ambassadors to greet guests and serve food, for the teachers to interact with the parents of students and supporters of the school, and for guests to bid on a wide variety of auction items. All proceeds go to support tuition assistance programs for the school. In addition to sponsorship, SSIR’s Adrienne Stroock, Charlie Dresen and Gretchen Coleman attended the event to show their support.

On December 30, 2016, at Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club’s Stars at Night Gala, the original artwork will be unveiled for the 2017 Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival poster. This original oil-on-canvas piece was created by Chula Beauregard, commissioned by Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty. The original framed painting will be a featured item in the live auction at the event, and the first three limited edition, signed and framed prints of the poster will be available through the silent auction. This event is the kick-off to the Winter Carnival season. Additional limited edition, signed and framed prints will be available for purchase through SSIR’s website, and poster copies will be available for purchase beginning in mid-January.

In 2016, Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty donated over $15,000 to the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club through the Winter Carnival poster program, and we are hoping to surpass that goal for 2017. For more information, please call Traci Smith at 970.879.8100.
