As the Ikon Pass enters its second year, there are some important things to note – some of which will save you money, some of which are tips on how to get the most out of your pass. Let us break down the top ten things you need to know about the Ikon Pass 2019/2010:

  1. Buy your pass now!
Prices go up after April 23, so to secure the best pricing on your pass, get online and buy yours before April 24, 2019. Current pricing is $949 for the full Ikon Pass, $649 for the Ikon Base Pass. Those prices go up $100 each on April 24. Read on for details about discounts, payment plans, child add-on passes, benefits, access and more…
  2. Being a returning pass holder has its perks.
2018/2019 Ikon Pass-holders will receive a $30 discount on the 2019/2020 pass. You need to make sure to login to your existing pass account, and when you put your pass in your cart, the $30 discount will be applied.
  3. New payment plan option this year!
If you purchase your pass before April 24, you will have the option to put down an initial deposit of $199. The remaining balance will be charged to your credit card on file, in equal installments from June through September, on the first of each month. This is a great option for many, since plunking down $949 is a big chunk to bite off. Not to mention those with families or kids who are purchasing multiple passes. The payment plan is an option for the Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass.
  4. While we are on the subject of families and kids…
The Ikon Pass has updated its policy and is now offering the option to purchase two discounted child passes with the purchase of each adult Ikon Pass (this is a nice departure from last year’s policy of one child’s pass per adult pass). That saves you $100 per child’s pass, and brings the price down to as low as $199 for the Ikon Pass or $159 for the Base Pass. For the Ikon Pass, a child’s pass (ages 5-12) is $299 and a “young adult” pass (ages 13-22) is $699, not including the $100 per pass discount when combined with an adult Ikon Pass. The Ikon Base Pass is $259 for a child and $499 for a young adult before the discount.
  5. Is your kid currently 4 years old or younger?
Buy their pass before their 5th birthday! For kids ages 0-4 years, the Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass are both $49. The trick is that the price is determined based on the child’s age as of the date of purchase. So, if your child is turning 5 on April 20, you will want to buy their pass by April 19 in order to still qualify for the $49 pass price. If you wait until after the day that they turn 5, the price goes up to the $299/$249 child’s pass price.
  6. Are you in the military or in college?
There is a discounted pass price of $679 for those actively serving in the military or enrolled in college. To get this discounted pass price, you would add your pass to your cart and proceed with online verification during the “Assign Passes” step of checkout.
  7. What resorts will the Ikon Pass get me access to ski and ride?

With the Ikon Base Pass, you get unlimited access at 12 resorts, including all of the resorts with Ikon Pass unlimited access, except Steamboat and Stratton, VT (where you will still get 5 days at each). Additionally, there are black out dates at Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, Mammoth, June Mount
ain and Solitude. The blackout dates are Dec. 26-31, Jan. 18-19 and Feb. 15-16. With the Ikon Base Pass, you also get up to 5 days (opposed to the 7 days each) at 26 other destinations.
