On Friday, December 20th, four Steamboat SIR agents went down to Denver to Children’s Hospital Colorado to deliver toys donated here in Steamboat to support Mickey’s Fund. The program aims to serve in-and outpatient families in need at Children’s and was established by long-time local, Moose Barrows, to honor the memory of his son. This fantastic program has evolved into what the hospital now calls Snow Pile.

Toys and monetary donations were collected at the Steamboat Sotheby’s offices, as well as the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and Wells Fargo downtown. The donation boxes were literally over-flowing – proof of the success of the program.

Snow Pile serves over 1,000 children of all ages each holiday season. These donations help ease the financial burden and allow families to shop for the holidays at Children’s Colorado. Families receive all kinds of goodies, such as outdoor gear, tech gifts, stuffed animals, and the season’s hottest toys.

According to Carla Oliver, Director of Child Life at Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation, “This year’s Snow Pile was a huge success. We were able to provide gifts to over 500 families, including patients and their siblings. The relief and gratitude expressed by these parents and caregivers was tremendous. We couldn’t do what we do without your support.”

Mickey’s Fund and Snow Pile help bring the magic of the Holidays to patients and their families, and we at Steamboat Sotheby’s are proud to be a part of this wonderful program.
