Jennifer Baker will be at Lyon Drug signing posters on February 6th and 7th, from 11 am to 1 pm.

Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival is truly one of the most special events that takes place each year, and the Winter Carnival Poster has become a coveted opportunity among local artists. For this year’s poster, Jennifer Baker, local glasswork artist, was selected to create the event’s artwork and faced the challenge of how to create a poster inspired by a glass sculpture.

What she ended up with was utterly stunning – an entirely glass piece comprised of small components all fired together in different layers that she calls “Light Up the Night.” Baker says she was inspired by the fun memories of enjoying a beautiful night watching the Winter Carnival fireworks with her family as snowflakes lightly fall from the ski.

On Thursday and Friday, February 6th and 7th, Baker will be available at Lyon Drug downtown from 11 am to 1 pm to sign this year’s iconic poster. Posters can be purchased for $10 at Lyon Drug, signed by Baker for no additional charge.

If you aren’t available to stop by to get your poster signed, you can still purchase posters at multiple locations around town including Lyon Drug, Off the Beaten Path, Pine Moon Art Gallery, the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club office at Howelsen Hill, or any Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty office. All poster sale proceeds go directly to the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club to support their programs and athletes.
