Mike is a true Colorado native. He knows skiing, ranching, and ski resorts. He grew up in Aspen when Aspen had dirt streets (his parents moved there in a school bus in 1959) and lived in Telluride before Telluride had a ski area. He was a member of the US Ski Team (with over 100 World Cup starts), coached the University of Colorado Ski team to two NCAA national ski championships, and worked as Vail Associates Race Director hosting their first international Alpine World Ski Championships. He operated his family’s guest ranch and ski lodge in Telluride and trained horses for three ranches, including the family-owned 110,000-acre cattle ranch in the Colorado Bookcliffs.
For the last 15 years, Mike feels blessed to call Steamboat Springs home. It was a natural fit for Mike and his family (wife and two sons) to make the move to Steamboat in 2006, with its world-class snow, ranching community, down-to-earth people, and strong family values. Mike’s passion for youth sports positively influences kids and families in the community. In Steamboat, he has coached local youth hockey and tennis teams and has been coaching the High School Alpine Ski Team since 2015.
Being part of the Boyd Team at Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty, Mike brings his enthusiasm, driven approach, and experience in land & property to meet and exceed your real estate needs.
