Named after surveyor Ferdinand Hayden, the town is in the heart of the Yampa Valley. Historically a coal mining and agriculture center, today the town maintains its western spirit and is surrounded by working ranches and farms. Located 22 miles west of Steamboat in the heart of the Yampa Valley, you will find a town rich in Western heritage, open space and plenty of small-town charm. Hayden is also home to NW Colorado’s largest airport- Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN).
