At Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty, our brokers make us who we are. Get to know a little bit more about Suzan Pelloni.
How long have you been in the real estate industry, and why did you get into this business?
I have been in the real estate industry for 10 years. Prior to becoming a Realtor, I was the executive director of the Meeker Chamber of Commerce. It was there that I realized how much I enjoyed helping visitors and knew that real estate would be an opportunity to continue assisting the people who fall in love with Meeker.
What is your favorite thing about being a real estate broker?
The best part of being a Realtor is meeting so many great people. Clients become dear friends!
What is something you have learned from being a real estate broker?
I have learned that a majority of buyers and sellers do not understand the process and that I must dedicate time to educating them.
How long have you been in Northwest Colorado and what brought you here?
I was born and raised in Meeker. As a competitive alpine skier for SSWSC, I commuted in early years, then attended LWS my last 3 years of high school. I moved back to Meeker around 2002.
Currently, what is your short answer to the question “How’s the market?”
Meeker’s 2019 market appears to be off to a strong start. Inventory, as a whole, is limited. Residences that are in move-in condition are likely to go under contract within the first week on the market.
Tell us about something in your work life that makes you very proud.
I am very proud to be considered Rio Blanco County’s real estate expert. I have a very strong relationship with the town, county and businesses. I am often called upon to help these entities for my opinion. I am also very proud of my 2018 Global Summit Award. That level of sales in my type of market is something to cheer about!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to camp, fish, hunt, alpine ski and snowmobile.
What makes Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty unique?
The level of support that I have received from our support staff and management team is unparalleled. Although I am a long way from the office, I always feel welcome and everyone is willing to help me.
What is one of your greatest personal accomplishments?
My competitive ski career was a very big accomplishment. Coming from a small town, I was (and probably will be the only for many years to come) the only ski racer. Skiing taught me how to set goals and work hard. I was able to visit 35 countries throughout my ski career.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about helping others achieve their real estate goals. If you take time to really get to know your clients, you will understand what is important to them, which is a great reminder of your own goals.
What is your favorite thing about living in the Northwest Colorado?
My favorite thing about living in the White River Valley is that there are so many recreational opportunities within moments of Meeker (or in Meeker itself). In between showings, I can take a quick hike on one of our many trails without even leaving town!
